During the year 1508, Count Daniele Malabaila di Canale acquires: "in montem Bonvicini, terram, gerbum, boscum et pratum cum motta ibidem existente...".
On this hilly, steepy, sunny, with a very loose soil, ideal for Favoritas's cultivation, Count Malabaila family is breading and producing the grapes that, after harwest, will give us Langhe Favorina Bonvicino's vineyard.
Like Arneis, also Favorita is a typical vine of the Roero area; its name becomes from the favour of which it was granted by paisans compared to the other grapes, this one is excellent for making wine and like table-grape.
Traces of its existence can be found on documents dating back to the 18th century.
The ripe bunch is of average dimensions, with scattered cylindrical with a pyramidal tendency; the grape is also of average dimensions ellissoidal, very short covered by a prone like peel, its colour changes from a yellowish green to a golden yellow, presenting rusty staines on those parts most exposed to the sun.
Langhe Favorita Bonvicino's vineyard presents itself brightand softly straw coloured with greenish reflections; its fruity scent is a mixture of banana, peach, apricot and lemon, its harmonious taste is slightly acidulous, agreably fresh and it leaves in your mouth a light almonds flavour.
Gastronomic accompaniments:Excellent as aperitif at the temperature of 6/8 degrees, it goes perfectly with delicate hoers-d'oeuvres; it is fantastic with fish meals simply cooked in mediterranean way.
